Here are some tips on what you need to know about Gen Z when hiring them.
They’re financially savvy.💸
It seems that it doesn’t just come from money grabbing but they are facing a high cost of living.
As employers, we need to be open and transparent about salaries and promotions. We are often avoidant when it comes to money.
We have to realize it is ok to talk about financial compensation just as you are ok talking about work demands.
They know when to set boundaries. 🥅
Oppose to Boomers, Gen X, or Millennials, Gen Zs know when to set boundaries and that involves work-life balance and prioritize flexible work arrangements.
Some might call that lazy or avoidance, but Gen Z is just very conscious about their mental health.
Especially because they are prone to anxiety and are considered as the loneliest generation.
Offer more than just a 9-to-5 job but a place where they can fulfil their work life balance and offer them possibilities for them to work on themselves and grow in the workplace.
They are really good with technology. 📱
So they manage technology very well and are comfortable with social media.
A lot of time they use social media as inspiration for life or work-related things. Giving them space to use those technologies and use social media for their work inspirations.
They worry about climate change. ⛈️
It’s never too late for the employer to think about ecology and how to give back. Evolving your company into events that support your values and give back to society will give more meaning to Gen Z.
After all, they are looking for fulfilling work.💛
